Thursday, 20 April, 2017 -
10:00 to 17:00

Organised by BRIDGE Health with support from the Federal Public Service Health, Food Chain Safety and Environment and the Scientific Institute of Public Health (WIV-ISP).

The aim of this meeting is to discuss the EU health information system and its strengthening through a European Research Infrastructure Consortium on Health Information for Research and Evidence-based Policy (HIREP-ERIC) as a tool. The HIREP-ERIC is a research infrastructure to advance population health monitoring and research on health and care. Read more about the HIREP-ERIC in this policy paper and a draft version of the technical and scientific description.

Our objectives are to bring to the attention the issues with the current EU health information system, to inform about BRIDGE Health, and to present the concept of the ERIC on health information for research and evidence-based policy.

Key speakers from the European Commission and Member States will discuss the current EU health information situation, what to expect from an ERIC on health information, as well as the ERIC and the way forward. This includes Xavier Prats Monné, Director General, DG SANTE; Benoit Mores, Minister of Social Affairs and Health; Jean-Claude Desenclos, Secretary General, International Association of National Public Health Institutes (IANPHI); Giovanni Nicoletti, Ministry of Health, Italy and many more.
